Like many of our favorite photographers, Bill Owens has that very special ability to capture moments of everyday normal life, and somehow, magically, make them seem momentous. What sets him apart for us personally, is that unlike our other major favorites who shot street scenes in New York City, or carnival freaks, or abandoned gas stations in the middle of nowhere…the subjects in Owens' pictures are extremely familiar, almost frighteningly so. We grew up in suburban California during the period in which most of these pictures were taken. To us, these are pictures of our neighbors, our streets, our homes. They are pictures of us.
Leisure is part of Bill Owen’s famous photographic series “Suburbia” and features dozens of classic portraits of people engaged in the most American of pursuits—from barbequeing, to bike riding, to lounging by the pool.
Book measures 10.25" x 10.25" x .6" and contains 120 pages,
