We've always loved the paintings of Ed Ruscha. We've spent a lot of time staring at his lovely Standard Station, and the graphic wit of OOF never fails to make us smile. But these days it's his photography that really blows our minds. It turns out that everything we love most about his work; the graphic typography, the architecture, the humor, all have their origins in his photographs. This book was published on the occasion of the Whitney Museum of American Art's exhibit, "Ed Ruscha: Photographer" and includes a great variety of Rusha's pictures, from never-before-seen shots of his early travels through Europe, to his more famous series' like "Various Small Fires", "Thirty-four Parking Lots," and "Every Building on the Sunset Strip." It's a must-have for Ed Ruscha fans, and a fascinating book for any fan of photography.
Hardcover, 8" x 10", 200 pgs, 140 color.
