My Michigan by Gwen Frostic is a precious and poetic journey through the artist’s native state illustrated with her singularly beautiful woodblock prints. A hopeful text runs through the pages highlighting the natural wonders and technological marvels that Michigan has to offer. Until we ran across this book we had only seen her prints of animals and nature, so it was a thrill to see that her colorful depictions of factories, bridges, freeways and churches are as lovingly rendered as the rest of her work.
Hardbound, 6.25” x 9.25”. First published in 1957.
